PROM

I have been out of school for....well, let's just say a while. The desserts that they served weren't to bad....but we had a sit down dinner at my High School Prom. But oh how cool it would have been to have a spread of all the different kinds of candies we kids were eating back then! That would have been awesome!

Most high schools, I am finding, serve punch or lemonade and cookies or cake or something or the sort. *sigh*. It's time to change things up a bit!!! Add some fun, color and sweetness to that table at Prom.

I was contacted by a local high school and let's just say, we are excited that we are going to Prom! We can't wait to share the pictures with you and show you how much fun the students will have!

To the other High Schools in the area we ask...what are you waiting for?! Contact us today for a Free Consultation and let us design an amazing candy buffet/dessert table for your Prom 2012!

Whoa...3 months went by?!

So, I am glad that I am creative and not in the professional writing arena or anything because I would be in big time trouble! I didn't realize that 3 months...going on 4...had passed since I last blogged about Sweet Events or candy or anything!! So sorry! I am going to set a goal to do better at this blogging thing. Maybe I should put it on my calendar? Not sure. I mean, I think of things to say and write about, but they seem to end up on FB or other areas and not here...so I guess I will need to double dip. :)

I have to tell you though, I am REALLY, REALLY excited!! Things have picked up a lot over this way and I am so happy about that. I have branched out of just doing the candy, which I am happy about too. I wanted to do something a little more, so we are doing all sorts of buffets as far as "treats" are concerned.

I am hoping to post some pretty big news here in the next couple of days so stay tuned and until then

SWEET DREAMS! :)

Weddings....I still love them!!!

Weddings.....they bring back a lot of memories for people...and I hope they are good memories...fun ones!!!

I just finished a wedding this past weekend for someone that I became pretty close with I feel through all our meetings, emails and phone chats! She is an amazing woman and her now husband is a pretty cool guy!! They are so fun and adorable together!

I love the setting up and decorating and having those little touches here and there that the couple may not even know about ahead of time!! I myself feel nervous and want things to go off without a hitch.... just like my bride does. I feel a huge sense of accomplishment when I come to tear down at the end of the night and the bride and groom come and tell me that guests were just raving over the candy buffet. It makes me feel soooo good knowing that I had a little part in their big day!!!

So, I am probably always going to be a romantic at heart and that's okay! I love weddings just as much as I love baby showers, birthdays and any other reason to have a party and candy!!! :) It's just a sweet ending that then turns into a sweet new beginning!!

Keeping up!

Have I mentioned that I love what I do?! I have participated in two bridal fairs in the past couple of weeks and I have met some of the most amazing and awesome people.

Now, I'm not just talking about the many brides and grooms to be. I'm talking about the wonderful people that run the venues we have been at and the vendors that have participated.

It is such a pleasure to get to meet so many people that normally I would probably never have a chance to meet! I love hearing ideas and the comments from wedding professionals! It's nice that they enjoy my tables as much as I do and as much as my clients and their guests do too!!

Now, to the keeping up part! I haven't had the chance to blog because I have so many people to touch base with and meetings with potential Sweet Clients. :)

Designing and building candy/treat buffets......I love it!

Thank you so much for stopping by! Enjoy your day!

Bridal Fair in Mission KS

I absolutely love what I do!!! :) I participated in a bridal fair this weekend at the Sylvester Powell Community Center in Mission, KS....which I must say is a very pretty building and the staff is amazing...and it was a complete ball!

I met so many wonderful brides to be and their families! I loved having the chance to talk to them about my business and what I do exactly. Some knew for a fact they wanted to have a candy/treat buffet at their wedding reception, some had never heard of the idea....but loved it...and then some had never considered it until they saw my table!!! :) WOW!! :)

I received many compliments on the table that I did and a couple requests to do the exact same in their colors!! I had a blast and am looking forward to the Bridal Fair this weekend in Lee's Summit! But just remember.....we aren't just for weddings!! We are a blast for parties too!!

Visions

I have lots and lots of ideas dancing in my head for candy buffets. Of course, when working with a client, they have their ideas and visions too that I need to build on to make sure it comes to be exactly what they had in mind, even if they weren't sure what it was all going to look like at the end!

After a meeting with one of my clients so that she could get a little bit of the look and feel I was working on, we started discussing how to find the things that you need for the buffet. Of course, I have my favorites, but I honestly believe that you have to really put yourself in the clients shoes, know what they want or are looking for. I encourage them to put bits of themselves into the buffet as well.. a favorite photo, a favorite item, etc, etc.

So, when checking out at the local craft store, the cashier asked me if I found everything I needed. I told her no, but thank you. My visions require quite a bit of looking in the not so obvious places. :)

Have a vision...and go for what you want. :)

The memory of mini jawbreakers

Last week, someone at work put a box of the mini jawbreakers in our candy dish. You know the ones....they come in the little green box and are about the size of a Sixlet. Anyways, I walked by, and then doubled back because I was like "OH MY GOODNESS!!! Do you all remember these?! I have not seen these forever!" I remember when we were little kids, we would have a box of these and pass the box around. Of course, everyone had a favorite color. Mine happened to be yellow. We would all get a jawbreaker out and hold it in our hand and the color would start coming off in our hands because they were sweating! Then, on the count of three, we all had to put the jawbreaker in our mouth and start to suck...then you had to stick your tongue out to see if yours was getting smaller the fastest. It was a big contest and so much fun. It brought back a great childhood memory for me and made me smile for a little while when the day was a little hectic and gray. :)
